I work from a research-based approach to therapy, focusing on education, skill-building and evidence-based interventions such as EMDR. My approach is goal-oriented and helps clients move quickly through their "stuckness".
I have two primary specialties: relationships and trauma. As a couples therapist of 28 years, I educate and teach skills to each client to help them learn self-regulation, communication skills, control their thoughts and calm their brains. For trauma clients, I used body-based interventions including EMDR and Internal Family Systems.
Because results are important to me, I stay up-to-date on current research and use assessment, skill-building and education to create a practical, action-based treatment plan.
