We all experience stress, whether it be from our jobs, relationships, and/or life changes, big and small. Most of the time we handle everything just fine but sometimes life throws us a curve and we become overwhelmed. That is when I would encourage you to talk with a professional, whether it is me or another professional.
I believe my role, as counselor, is to help people get through the difficult times by providing support. The type of support will differ with each person because every individual has unique needs. I use a combination of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Family Systems Therapy, and Solution Focused Therapy.
Prior to full-time private counseling, I worked as a school counselor in DuPage County counseling visually impaired students from pre-school to high school. Previous to that, I counseled students for 9 years at Liberty Junior High in New Lenox, and taught as an adjunct professor for National Lewis University's Educational Psychology department.
