Hi I'm, Sandra Rico, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Certified Sex Therapist. I utilize a Client-Centered approach to therapy where I assist the client in self-discovery, teach psycho-education, and encourage clients to develop coping skills to improve their lives. I work with a wide variety of clients including minorities. For telehealth sessions, I prefer seeing clients aged 18 and over. Nevertheless, some teens are interested in telehealth and as long as interest is shown, then of course, I will work with them. I have experience working with the LGBT+ and I encourage emotional expression in a safe environment.
I have over 15 years of experience treating clients for the following concerns: Anxiety, Behavioral Issues, Depression, Family Conflict, Infidelity, LGBTQ+ Issues, Marital and Premarital, Parenting, Relationship Issues, Self Esteem, Sexual Abuse, Sleep or Insomnia, Trauma, and Women's Issues.
My therapeutic approach is eclectic as I use techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused, Client-Centered therapy, and more. I help clients discover why they are acting a certain way and how that relates to past unresolved issues or trauma.
