Change is a given part of life. One's response to change can mean the difference of having a good day or a bad one, a fulfilling life or feeling stuck in a situation. One's response to change depends on one's thoughts and feelings about the change. Changing one's thoughts about a situation can be challenging. It occurs little by little. It takes a lot patience and practice to make changes. My clients may have depression, anxiety, attention problems, other behavioral or emotional problems or traumatic experiences to change.
My role in therapy is to support and empower my clients as they work to make the changes that they want in their lives. I work primarily with cognitive behavioral therapy and dialectal behavioral therapy, but I incorporate ideas and activities from other therapies as well. I use my knowledge of the brain and how it functions to help my clients change.
When I was considering my own life changes, a friend told me to do what makes me happy. I realized that there is nothing else I would rather be doing than helping my clients make the changes that are best for them. I welcome the opportunity to get to know you and help you make the changes that you want in your life.
