I see adults (individual & couples), adolescents, and children 12+. My ultimate goal is to not only help my clients overcome their presenting issues, but also to foster within them a deeper, more complete understanding of themselves, as well as any relevant diagnoses. It is true that therapy can at times feel difficult, but the benefits (hope, support, validation, relief from trauma, reflective guidance, coping skills, insight into sources of distress, strategies for strengthening relationships, psychoeducation, etc.) can be lifelong and, with the right psychotherapist-client fit, even the most challenging sessions feel therapeutic.
While my approach to treatment does center mostly on the Psychodynamic therapeutic framework, I individualize my treatment strategy for each client and do not hesitate to integrate intervention techniques from a number of other theoretical perspectives if I feel they are likely to benefit from them.
My overall mission as a psychotherapist is to guide my clients toward the catharsis, closure, and mental stability necessary to not only function effectively, but to achieve their goals, maintain healthy, fulfilling relationships, and enhance their quality of life.
