I specialize in working with individuals who have a high emotional sensitivity which results in engaging in behaviors that become problematic and even self-destructive. I am a DBT clinician working in a comprehensive DBT program where we offer skills training groups, skills coaching and collaborate on a consultation team to provide you with evidence-based treatment. I am trained in DBT specific to working with adults and adolescents and take a whole-family approach to treatment whenever possible. I also have experience in facilitating trauma processing, so if you're seeking a trauma-informed DBT clinician I'd love to connect!
I received my bachelor's degree from Hope College and my master's in social work from Grand Valley State University. I am certified in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy. I have been in clinical practice for 3 ½ years. I am Spanish-speaking, although not equipped to conduct entire sessions in Spanish.
I aspire to provide a safe and affirming place in therapy where clients can experience a balance of being validated and supported while also being challenged to grow and provided with new skills and mindsets. In my free time, I enjoy spending time outdoors, singing choral music, traveling, and engaging in meaningful spiritual and religious practices.
