Life has its stressors and sometimes you just need someone to talk to. By giving individuals the space to talk through what may be weighing on their mind, it helps detangle those thoughts so they can be viewed from a different perspective. Having that different perspective can give the opportunity to use coping skills and strategies that help clients meet their short- and long-term goals. I have worked with individuals who are trying to cope with grief and loss, trauma, daily stressors, anxiety, and depression. I strive to provide a safe, no judgement space for those who need a listening ear.

Are you struggling with something? Anything at all? Well then, you’re looking in the right place. I believe therapy should be a part of everyone's self-exploration and self-care process. Happiness and wellness comes from so many aspects of a person’s life. Until those parts are balanced and fulfilled, then struggles may exist. Whether it’s cognitive, social, romantic, spiritual, behavioral, or any other part of your existence, it’s important to me. My goal as a therapist is to help you become the best and happiest version of yourself. I’ll be right by your side, supporting you in every step of your process.

Most women worry about making sure everything is okay for everyone else but who takes care of you? Who do you speak to about the trauma you've experienced, the things that’ve hurt you, or your experience as a new mother? There are some things that you may experience that only another woman can understand. You may appear to be happy outwardly, however behind the smile is a persistent feeling of sadness, depression, anxiety, fatigue, and fear. Don’t allow Trauma, Depression, or Anxiety to continue to rule your life. It’s time for you to be kind to yourself and begin to resolve anything that’s holding you back.

Life is hard. It might help to talk with someone about it. Therapy is best when there’s a good working relationship. So instead of reading through a paragraph of my resume, why not schedule a 15 minute free consultation and see how a talk with me might go. If learning a bit more about me is important here's a brief bio:

Feeling anxious all the time is such a crippling feeling and can feel like there is no escaping it. Just when one anxious thought starts to go away, another one shows up and takes its place. It can feel like an endless cycle of racing thoughts, worry, and fear about anything and everything. It’s hard to know when the anxiety will be over especially living in an anxiety-inducing world that is constantly changing which in turn leads to more anxiety. If this sounds like you, you're not alone!

Building relationships where individuals feel seen, heard, and accepted as who they are may be a struggle at times. Through executive decision making, and the ability to connect their inner mindset with their outer mindset, the individual themself is able to fulfill a promising, successful, and more positive lifestyle. Individuals may find themselves feeling stuck in the same frustrating relationship patterns, and the questions and deep inner thoughts of how this continues to happen can effect others and make them feel badly about themselves. The lack of empowerment in one’s life may take many forms, both great and small.

We are all on an adventure. An adventure that can take us to anxious, dark, and scary places. It may make it difficult to engage in everyday tasks. It can be isolating and feel like we can never find our way back. Our adventure becomes hopeless. But what if hope is not lost? Imagine if you woke up tomorrow and, as if by magic, everything was better. What would have changed? Would you have become present instead of time-traveling to past defeats or future concerns and perhaps more grounded instead of becoming lost in space on an unknown dark world? It may not be magic but let us use therapy to dispel those fears together.

Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?
The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors.
Many have been licensed by the country or state where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.

What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?
Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In the US, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.
Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.

What type of therapy is right for me?
The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.
How much does therapy cost?
The cost of therapy depends on a number of variables, including location and the therapist’s experience and training. On average, a therapy session in the United States could cost between $100 and $200 or more. If you have insurance, the expense of mental health care is typically lower, but it varies based on your insurance plan details and whether you choose an in-network or out-of-network mental healthcare provider.
What are more affordable or low cost therapy solutions?
Many therapists offer sliding scale payments, usually on a limited number of slots, which consists in an agreement between the therapist and a client to pay a reduced rate. Therapists who provide such arrangements often consider the client's income or ability to pay, but the extent of the discount is ultimately at the therapist's discretion. Furthermore, while group therapy may have different goals and benefits compared to individual therapy, it can be a more affordable solution to address certain types of issues.
Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?
Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.
Is online therapy a good option?
Therapy conducted online can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your zip code.
Are therapy sessions confidential?
Confidentiality is a crucial part of the therapeutic relationship. Therapists in the United States are bound by the regulations set out by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA), which aims to protect sensitive health information. With very few exceptions, a therapist will only discuss their client with others when the client has given their written permission. The instances in which a therapist would be required to disclose personal information are: if a client poses a danger to themselves or others, if the therapist suspects the abuse of a child or an elderly or otherwise dependent adult, or if they are legally forced to by court order. These exceptions to the confidentiality agreement are usually discussed with a client before their first session.
