Depression, anxiety, and other mood disorders can be debilitating with their long lasting symptoms. It is challenging to know where to start when working through difficult emotions and challenges. I like to make a collaborative effort with individuals to create treatment goals that aren't only manageable, but effective for long-term effects. Individuals that struggle with social interactions and a lowered self esteem are able to take matters into their own hands, and we all need a bit of help sometimes.
Building the therapeutic relationship is crucial when starting therapy. Therapy models I tend to use include motivational interviewing (MI) and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). I am an excellent listener and give direct feedback. I have experience in both the inpatient and outpatient setting for mental health therapy for the past 3 years.
I believe everyone has the opportunity to grow and better themselves. I want to explore and build on new tools to help individuals to take more control over their lives. We are so much more than what we give ourselves credit for and I want people to know their true potential and their gifts that they share with the world are truly priceless.
