Starting therapy can feel intimidating for a number of reasons, and often requires approaching things that feel uncomfortable! I strive to foster an environment that is warm, supportive, and empowering. I have experience with a wide variety of presenting concerns, and have a special passion for working with individuals with anxiety-related disorders (e.g. social anxiety, generalized anxiety, phobias) and obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD).
I use research-supported interventions like Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Mindfulness and self-compassion approaches are woven throughout the work I do. I also tend to use humor and creativity in session when appropriate.
I view therapy as a true collaboration. You are a unique individual whose identities, culture, and strengths are to be affirmed. These are also important in how we do things in therapy.
