Loss, failure, and separation are major root causes of many forms of suffering in life. But they are not always evident, we may be too young when live through them, or we may not feel their impact until long after an event. Sometimes they even travel through generations. As a psychotherapist, I have spent over 25 years helping people who suffered from a variety of emotional and relational problems created by one or a combination of these issues, ranging from basic unhappiness to unhealthy relationships, workplace conflicts, divorce and separations, parents struggling with their children, migration and forced separation, even trauma.
I am trained in psychoanalytic therapy, and transcultural psychiatry, with focus on developmental and object relational approaches -relationships with others, and our ties with the world around us. Transcultural psychiatry identifies the role of social and cultural factors in your challenges, specifically useful if you or your family have migration history.
The intake session is free. This session is 30 minutes, to give you sufficient time to describe what brings you to me, and what you hope to gain from therapy. This will also give us a chance to decide whether psychotherapy is the right thing for you and if I am the right therapist for you.
