Are you wondering why you or your child is struggling to learn or pay attention? I can help you figure out "why?" and "what's next?" I have assessed over 2500 individuals in public and independent schools, residential treatment facilities, a university hospital clinic, and, since 2006, my own practice. My typical client is a school-aged or college student with signs of a learning disability (dyslexia is the most common) or ADHD. I also assess the need for accommodations for school, work, or standardized tests such as the ACT, LSAT, MCAT, and board and licensure exams.
Trixie Belden mysteries sparked my interest in "mind detecting." Trixie’s clues included forgotten matchbooks and dropped gloves; mine involve vocabulary tests and logic puzzles. Trixie had to figure out whether Uncle Ned was an imposter; I want to know why this fourth grader has so much trouble in math or why this this law student can’t pass the bar exam.
My reports include 40 to 100 scores that are clues, not facts. Like colors on a palette, they are just part of the process. I combine test results with observations, history, and teacher input to create a "portrait" of your or your child's learning profile and needs.
