The creation of a safe, authentic, and collaborative treatment relationship is fundamental to helping you be understood and feel seen, heard, and valued. I assist people to understand how, often unconscious, patterns in living and relating with others impact their lives.
Real change occurs at the intersection of insight and new experiences/behaviors. This discovery is a process and fundamental to what we will do together. Working well with people of diverse backgrounds and cultures, I typically integrate cognitive-behavioral, dialectical-behavioral, and meditative interventions into therapy.
My clinical interests include relational theory, the treatment of attachment disorders, loss, trauma and abuse, couples counseling, men’s issues, substance abuse, chronic medical illnesses, chronic interpersonal struggles, emotional regulation, depression, and anxiety. I am on faculty at SBU School of Medicine and Adelphi University's postgraduate program.
