Accepting new clients as of January 2023 either for VIRTUAL or IN-PERSON psychotherapy. I have worked in the Mental Health field since 1997. Sometimes one may need someone who is available only for you. As a therapist I provide a safe place where you can be vulnerable about painful behaviors, thoughts, and feelings. Perhaps you are feeling sad, angry, anxious, confused, or emotionally paralyzed. You may be unable to control negative thoughts, unhealthy behaviors, a pattern of engaging in unhealthy relationships, or may be repeating destructive patterns. Perhaps you get distressed from memories related to traumatic events.
The type of therapy used to treat your needs, may either be longer term psychodynamic psychotherapy, or short term treatment modalities such as CBT, MI, CPT, ACT, PE, or DBT, and what is determined to be appropriate. Psychotherapy requires a commitment of time and effort in- and out- of sessions by a client to eventually help make changes to their lives.
I work with a wide range of individuals and issues. While I historically have worked with Veterans, specializing in individual and trauma treatment, I work with issues around Depression, Anxiety, Obsessive/Compulsive, Sleep Hygiene, Anger Management, Attachment, Identity, LGBTQI +, life transitions, grief/loss, self esteem, and mood dysregulation.
