Most clients seek out therapy because something or possibly many things aren't feeling good or working out well in their lives. They are looking for healing, for worth, for growth, for change. They need a safe and trusting person and an environment where they can feel heard, can process, feel, collaborate, make sense of, and make changes to improve their lives. They are looking for someone to listen and engage without judgement but also to challenge them when necessary. Therapy is about a collaborative relationship that allows a person to open their heart and their mind to healing.
I have spent most of my career working with adults of childhood trauma, with people who often feel like they don't belong or don't fit in, and with everyday people trying to manage a tough world and life challenges. My intention is to help clients find peace, self compassion, and a stronger and confident, more whole sense of self.
Change is not easy and sometimes the first step is being open to taking a chance on doing something to take care of yourself. We are currently faced with tremendous fear and anxiety in the world we live in. Taking steps to overcome those emotions along with many others, takes just a little courage. It could be the beginning of something amazing.
