I believe that therapy is a collaborative process and that the client steers the direction. Internal motivation and a willingness to ask yourself the difficult questions are essential to success. The beauty is that the power lies in your hands at all times. I am happy to help facilitate the process and smooth the path along your way. I have training in cognitive behavioral therapy, rational emotive behavior therapy, dialectical behavior therapy (both the original and radically open subsets), holistic health, humanistic approaches, and existential approaches.
I love getting to know clients and tailoring treatment to what they need as individuals – which usually involves borrowing from a lot of different modalities. I take a laid back approach and I love to use humor in session, but my favorite aspect of therapy is to provide a safe healing space and foster a trusting relationship.
I think it is important that therapists show their humanity while still making sure that the process is about the client. I look forward to building a positive relationship and providing some insight in order to help you grow, heal, and thrive.
