I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor. I provide individual psychotherapy for adults and family based therapy for pre-teens and adolescents. I integrate evidence based, best practice interventions from contemporary psychodynamic therapy and systemic family therapy. My method of treatment for individuals involves the containment and alleviation of psychological symptoms through alliance, verbalization and interpretation.
Part of this process involves recovering aspects of yourself that have been lost or fractured due to traumatic life experiences. This type of long term therapeutic work can lead people to a life that is more authentic, conscious and free.
I treat adolescents (ages 12+) using a family therapy model in which parental involvement is necessary. An adolescent's treatment will involve a combination of full family, parent-child, parent only and individual sessions. The treatment is short term in nature, typically lasting 8-12 sessions.
