Hello, and thank you for visiting my profile page! It can be intimidating to start counseling, but I hope with my warm relational style, you will feel safe and comfortable as you begin your therapeutic journey. I have worked in the mental health field for 25+ years and enjoy working with clients who are struggling with depression, anxiety, grief and difficult life adjustments. I also have experience in addictions, trauma, ADD/ADHD, eating disorders, couples and family work, and other presenting issues. I have worked with a range of clients, from elementary to retirement age.
My primary approaches to therapy include cognitive therapy, behavioral therapy or a blend of the two, along with supportive, affirming and insight approaches. I further utilize acceptance commitment therapy (ACT), mindfulness and DBT, concepts of the 12-step program, and other therapeutic interventions as appropriate.
