I work with parents and caregivers of neurodiverse children to help them navigate raising their unique humans. I also work with individuals struggling with anxiety and depression brought on by chronic or sudden life stressors. This work is largely about identifying and examining old beliefs, coping mechanisms, and patterns of communication from the person's past that are no longer useful in current situations. In this way, people can learn and grow beyond their old habits.
My work with individuals and families is primarily strength-focused. In each session, we will identify what you are doing that is working, as well as what is not, both examining challenges and celebrating successes. I use emotion-focused, mindfulness-based, interpersonal modalities to best serve each client’s specific needs in therapy and parent coaching.
For almost 20 years, I have been working with adults, children, and families in various roles: elementary school teacher, teacher trainer, caregiver advocate, parent coach, and Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist.
