I think of my approach to helping people as a collaborative and educational one. Most people who come in for therapy are wanting to make a change in their lives but are struggling in some manor. I feel that the best way to implement change is through one's thoughts (cognitions), feelings, and behaviors-this kind of approach is known as Cognitive-Behavioral therapy (CBT).
A person needs to welcome the challenges and opportunities in his or her life with a clear and calm mind - These are the cognitive and behavioral aspects of CBT.
The focus of my practice is working with people with mood disorders, usually defined as depression or bipolar disorder as well as anxiety disorders. I have gained a knowledge and expertise in this area over the past 13 years and want to pass this on to those who would most benefit.
