I am expert in cognitive behavioral therapy and have been a field instructor and guest lecturer for the graduate MSW program at U.C. Berkeley.
I am most interested in treating depression, marital problems,work-related problems, family issues, health concerns,grief and panic attacks.
I have maintained a private practice for over 20 years. I believe that being interactive and having a strong and caring connection with clients is essential to providing successful therapy. My style combines collaboration, empirical knowledge and humor. I specialize in working with physicians, nurses and other health care providers.
My work is quite interactive and almost always is goal or solution oriented. I use both Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and also ACT, or Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. This type of therapy often involves learning new skills, and how to approach old problems in new ways.
I help clients look at their work environment when it has become a source of stress. My book, an Idiots Guide to Performance Appraisals, was guided by many years of providing Employee Counseling Programs to large bay area hospitals and health care agencies.
