I have maintained a private practice in Beverly Hills or West Hollywood for over 30 years, and I have been an Associate Clinical Professor in the UCLA Psychology Department. I have found it helpful to be eclectic in my theoretical orientation, depending upon the personality of the client, the issues being discussed, and the client's own history of what has and has not been helpful. I integrate cognitive-behavioral, psychodynamic, and humanistic elements in my approach to each client, always attempting to provide a safe and respectful environment in which clients can grow.
I provide individual and couples psychotherapy. Issues addressed include depression, anxiety, sexuality, relationship concerns, childhood abuse, gay and lesbian issues, parenting, self-esteem, PTSD, trauma, addiction, and personal growth.
In addition to my teaching at UCLA for over 25 years, I have been a member of the American Psychological Association, the Los Angeles County Psychological Association, the Los Angeles Society of Clinical Psychologists, and the Lesbian and Gay Psychological Association of Los Angeles.
