My philosophy is to approach each person as an individual with his or her own ability/willingness/readiness to work through the issues at hand. I believe our thought process can be our own worst enemy at times and I work to assist the client to be more aware of the pitfalls of these negatively charged thoughts. I combine a range of therapeutic approaches based on your distinct needs of the client. I provide counseling services for those looking to reduce and manage anxiety and depression, develop affirmative overall functioning, and obtain assistance in confronting life trials.
I have worked with ages 5-99, in school settings, residential and out-patient settings as well as detention settings. As a School Counselor for the past 20 years, I have worked with students and parents to navigate through a myriad of familial, relational and school related issues.
It is important to find someone you are comfortable working with. I hope that I am able to assist you in this process. We will work collaboratively to uncover the key to your “joyfulness”, rather than "happiness". Joy is internal, long lasting and provides inward peace. Happiness is temporary and based on external circumstances.
