I can help with relationships issues, depression, anxiety, and life/work balance. I have been helping people recover from substance abuse problems and addictions for many years, finding this work very rewarding. I am a firm believer in the Twelve Step model of recovery.
I prefer taking an active approach in helping people resolve the issues for which they come to me. This will include specific steps to take between sessions.
In believing that each person's story and situation is unique, I tailor my approach to the individual or couple.
I have extensive experience and training in treating couples, both gay and straight. I am a believer in the idea that relationships are worth working to preserve.
In working with people, I use a variety of approaches including cognitive-behavioral, Jungian, existential and Eastern contributions to the art of psychotherapy.
I have found that psychotherapy works best when combined with additional activities, such as qigong, yoga, exercise, movement therapy, as well as meditation. Believing that spirituality is an important component of a balanced life, I take a non-denominational perspective, honoring the particular spiritual orientation of those who come to see me.
