My approach to therapy is creative and collaborative. I believe each individual – no matter their age or gender identity – is unique and should have a therapist who is genuine, practices unconditional positive regard, and has empathic understanding. In session, I will approach the client where they are and with what they may currently be experiencing. My approach starts with building a positive, warm, and trusting relationship. This will provide a foundation of support, encouragement, and connection, and after that the work can truly begin. I do not expect a client to work harder in our relationship than I am willing to do myself.
My work in mental health has included youth, adolescents, and anyone in the LGBTQ+ community. I have worked with anxiety, depression, sadness, grief and loss, life transitions, and trauma-related issues. I bring creativity, compassion, warmth, and a genuine desire to understand you in a safe, welcoming, non-judgmental, and empowering environment.
All my combined life experiences have led me to this point, and it is my passion to help individuals, like you or your child, begin to see and change those things that have kept you from living your best life. I can promise to strive for a supportive, challenging, and hopeful experience with maybe a little laughter and play for good measure.
