My primary focus for over 30 years has been providing help to individuals with sexual problems and relationship therapy. I have special interest and expertise in working with sexual dysfunctions, compulsive sexual behaviors and couple therapy.
I have served as the Director of the Sexual Disorders and Couple Therapy Program at Northwestern, where I provided care, taught psychologists and physicians, and conducted research in the areas of sexuality and intimate relationships. I have helped to train hundreds of therapists to provide help in these areas.
My approach to therapy is integrative in that I am able to draw upon a variety of approaches and interventions to tailor treatment to an individual or couple. I emphasize self-understanding, empathy, and learning new ways of relating.
