My practice and interventions start where you are. I specialize in working with clients struggling with a wide range of stressors. I do not believe in a one size fits all model, and will pull from different approaches utilizing interventions that best fit your needs. We will work together to develop a treatment plan with achievable goals that makes sense for you. My training as a yoga instructor guides my interventions in being keenly aware of the mind/body connection and the impact of emotional health on the body.

I have a history working with adults, children, couples and families. I enjoy working with a diverse population. Change is inevitable in life however how one moves through it is up to the individual. Behavior is changeable but only by the person that has the behavior not by his/her partner, parent, friend etc.

When we change the way we think, we change the way we live. Perspective is key. I believe counseling is a space to explore the thoughts that hinder success and then transform them! Reshape the way we’ve learned to communicate with ourselves and with others. I am passionate about helping people develop new beliefs about themselves that support their values. What do you value? What are you currently doing that aligns with your values? What’s getting in the way? How do you overcome all of that? We live in a fast-paced society but counseling allows us to slow down, reflect, and figure out how to achieve our goals.

Not accepting new clients
Finding a therapist is a challenge. I recommend that you look at what people offer and then meet them before deciding. The work I do is based in helping people develop a different relationship with their internal states, thoughts, and feelings. Through this approach, I help people better understand themselves and their loved ones, find meaning when it seems there is none, and let go of ways of thinking and experiencing that are holding them back.

I am open to learning from my clients, not only about their current situation and past; but about their strengths and needs. Together we will create a plan that may empower them to bring about positive change in their thinking and daily routine.

In a society that prioritizes productivity over mental health, it is to be expected that at some point we might feel disconnected from our lives, values, and relationships. We can become distracted by the “goal” of avoiding uncomfortable emotions rather than making space for all emotional experiences. In a purposeful and meaningful life, suffering is inevitable. There will be fear, loss, and sadness and also, peace, joy, and contentment. Part of being human means we have the capacity for feeling all of the emotions and when we make space for them, we can learn how to stay present and connected with our values and our journey.

In my work, I find myself connecting to adults navigating life with anxiety, depression, ADHD, self-esteem and college/career issues. Perhaps you're finding it difficult to manage the stressors of everyday life. Maybe you long to build meaningful relationships but find the task to be daunting. Or perhaps you're feeling drained from putting others needs before your own. Whether you want to focus on a specific issue or seek to improve your overall quality of life, I'm glad you've made it here.
