I work with adolescents and adults as they work through issues related to mood, anxiety, grief, sexuality and relationship issues. I believe in the importance of finding satisfaction in your relationships. In my view, the majority of mood symptoms stem from relational issues and the way we interact with people. Positive, satisfying connections to people is fundamental to mental health.

Waitlist for new clients
People with relationship issues then become more successful at expressing themselves and grow towards developing greater harmony and intimacy.
My ideal client is a family or couple in the midst of a situational crisis. They may need help navigating changes such as: a member with special needs, adolescent years, an affair, remarriage/stepfamily issues, illness and death. I strongly believe many people have the capacity to manage life's challenges, however they may need to learn more skillful communication of their needs and desires. It has been my privilege to help restore innate strengths as well as to nurture untapped abilities to overcome stresses and symptoms of depression, anxiety and confusion associated with these life changes.

I also have lots of experience with anxiety, depression, self-esteem, relationship problems, grief, assertiveness, adjusting to life's changes, stress management, spiritual direction, self-esteem and empowerment.
Our work together will be suited to your needs. That is, one client may choose talk therapy, whereas another prefers the hands-on approach of energy field healing, and a third opts to combine both of these approaches. Regardless of the mode of treatment, we are always aware that the whole person includes body, mind and spirit and so will involve and integrate them as much as possible. I use a variety of therapeutic techniques including cognitive, skill building, Gestalt, client-centered, guided imagery, inner child work, or energy healing depending on the needs and style of growth of the client.

Where is the joy? Life is stressful and lately you notice your mind won't shut off. Feeling more relaxed and letting go of worry seems like an impossible dream. You spend way too much time stuck in a loop of anxious thoughts and feel you are missing out on life. It is difficult to feel present when worry keeps distracting you. You have missed enough already. You do not need to stay stuck in your anxiety. Get back into life and be fully present to enjoy family and friends and feel on task with work and obligatations.

Relationship Issues Therapists
While need for human connection appears to be innate, the ability to form healthy, loving relationships is learned. Some evidence suggests that the ability to form a stable relationship starts to form in infancy, in a child's earliest experiences with a caregiver who reliably meets the infant's needs for food, care, warmth, protection, stimulation, and social contact. Such relationships are not destiny, but they are theorized to establish deeply ingrained patterns of relating to others. The end of a relationship, however, is often a source of great psychological anguish.
