In my work, I find myself connecting to adults navigating life with anxiety, depression, ADHD, self-esteem and college/career issues. Perhaps you're finding it difficult to manage the stressors of everyday life. Maybe you long to build meaningful relationships but find the task to be daunting. Or perhaps you're feeling drained from putting others needs before your own. Whether you want to focus on a specific issue or seek to improve your overall quality of life, I'm glad you've made it here.

Being a psychotherapist for the past 20 years has and continues to be a journey with people that validates my belief healing and deep change is truly possible. The therapeutic relationship which is a special and sacred connection is by far the most essential ingredient to real shifts in our attachment systems and long held unconscious beliefs about ourselves and the world. My background is mainly centered in Body/Mind experiential psychotherapy. I help people to slow down and bring mindful awareness to their experience. This allows us to study together what’s happening in the here and now.

In my 20+ years of experience I have found that therapy works because it offers the time and a safe space to explore our internal world and our relationship with others. Research shows that we can transform negative self beliefs and intrusive feelings by processing childhood trauma. I specialize in body-centered psychotherapies, EMDR and IFS, to achieve this goal. Many diagnoses are missed, such as PTSD and ADHD in adults until they listen to their bodies. Clients will learn that our bodies possess the capacity to be rewired when we heal trauma, and will regain their full lives.

Welcome! I'm Kelly, a certified professional life coach with a gentle, strengths-based approach. I help women and members of the LGBTQIA+ community break cycles of dysfunction and self-sacrifice to finally claim the lives they need. My coaching philosophy is grounded in psychodynamic theory and incorporates concepts borrowed from Internal Family Systems, Co-Active Coaching, and somatic work. While the work we do together is not psychotherapy (my role is not to diagnose or treat mental illness), the pace and rhythm of my coaching sessions are very similar to what you would experience in a therapist’s office.

With a combination of mind-body therapy, holistic counseling, and somatic energy healing you'll learn just what you need to regain your identity, self-acceptance, and power.
You long feel connected. Connected to yourselves and to others. To feel that sense of purpose and direction in life. To feel where and how you fit in the world. Your filled with the same anxious thoughts, "Who am I really", " How do I fit in", " Do others feel this way?". This brings feeling of loneliness, self-doubt, being lost, and the light you once had inside of you begins to diminish. You desperately want to replace these anxious thoughts, sadness, and unstable moods with a new vision and a new zest for life. There has to be a way to turn these thoughts around. But where do you even begin?

I work with people who are in the process of awakening from old, limited ways of seeing and being in the world. Awakening can be simple, such as when you start noticing that you haven't been present to your loved ones. It can also be deep and profound, like realizing that you're not happy and you want to live life in an entirely different manner. If you've been suffering or struggling in silence, it may be time to really focus on YOU and what you want out of life.

Somatic Therapists
How does somatic therapy work?
Somatic therapy is a form of treatment that focuses on how the body and mind are interconnected. In this approach, physical symptoms are addressed because they may in fact signal emotional distress. Somatic therapists combine mindfulness, talk therapy, breathwork, yoga, dance, and physical manipulations of the body to help patients become more attuned to what their body is telling them.
Is EMDR a somatic therapy?
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a form of somatic therapy, as it incorporates mental and physical principles. EMDR involves remembering a traumatic experience while allowing one’s eyes to track a side-to-side visual stimulus from a therapist. This lateral eye movement is believed to diminish the painful power of the memory so that it can be discussed with a therapist.
Is somatic therapy evidence-based?
Somatic therapy has been researched and studied, and some forms of somatic therapy are found to be effective in treating a wide range of conditions. Because somatic therapy encompasses many techniques, some, such as EMDR and meditation, have been studied more than others.
What is somatic trauma therapy?
Somatic trauma therapy is based on the idea that when people experience trauma, they can become stuck in the “freeze” part of a “fight, flight, or freeze” response. In this state, trauma can manifest itself both mentally and physically—through tension in the muscles, anxiety, and stress. Popular forms of somatic trauma therapy include EMDR, sensorimotor therapy, and somatic experiencing.
