Therapy is an incredible tool for healing, exploration, and liberation. I am specially trained in lending a neutral ear as you navigate new truths and find growth in old wounds. As a relationship therapy specialist, I know that enriching connections to Self, Partners, Family, and Community are key to achieving the high quality of life that you deserve. My role is to help you gain confidence, truth, and a chance to re-author your life’s narrative. I work with individuals, people in relationships (couples, spouses, polycules, etc.), and families of all kinds. I draw from a strengths-based narrative approach that is client-centered.

"Normal is nothing more than a setting on a dishwasher." -Whoopie Goldberg. Remembering that normal is a myth when it comes to being human helps ease the harsh self criticism that often interferes with exploring our inner worlds with kindness and curiosity. This is the posture I take as I work alongside adults and teens who want to deepen their relationship with themselves and thrive despite circumstances. They may find themselves struggling with relationships, ongoing emotional disturbance, feelings of depression and/or anxiety, trauma (past or present), and difficult life transitions among other concerns.

As a therapist, I aim to provide my clients with a safe space to share, connect, and work on treatment goals together. My hope is to create a therapeutic relationship with my clients where they can learn about themselves and how to best cope with life's challenges. I am especially interested in working with adolescents and young adults who have suffered trauma in their life. Changes and transitions are hard for all of us. Sometimes they can be great things like a new job, relationship or family member and other times they are hard changes like a death or the loss of something important to us. Other times they are the result of a trauma that may be recent or may have happened a while ago. I have several years of experience helping children, adolescents, adults, families and couples adapt creatively to these transitions in order to help them become the person they were created to be.

It is hard for many of us to reach out to someone for help. It may be embarrassment, or being unsure how therapy would help heal you. Our journey together will be a compassionate, nonjudgemental classroom where you will learn more of your pure self and its ability to heal. It is important that we both see clearly in our work together: "There’s one skill at the center of any healthy family, company, classroom, community, university or nation — the ability to see someone else deeply, to know another person profoundly, to make them feel heard and understood.” David Brooks, New York Times

Life is unpredictable and can often leave us in a place of vulnerability. Life can get busy changes occur, and our relationships can be affected. Often times we just need someone to talk with for a different perspective or a different way of approaching a life challenge. Often times we just may be unable to articulate what we need as we navigate our feelings and what we want for our own personal goals and outcomes. When we push our needs aside they can resurface in ways that become unmanageable, making it hard to connect with others.

While need for human connection appears to be innate, the ability to form healthy, loving relationships is learned. Some evidence suggests that the ability to form a stable relationship starts to form in infancy, in a child's earliest experiences with a caregiver who reliably meets the infant's needs for food, care, warmth, protection, stimulation, and social contact. Such relationships are not destiny, but they are theorized to establish deeply ingrained patterns of relating to others. The end of a relationship, however, is often a source of great psychological anguish.
