So here, in the therapeutic relationship, I offer to meet you with kindness and compassion, never ceasing to be curious about the person you have been, and are becoming.
My clients are those who are hungry for relief from uncertainty, shame, and worry. They are seeking to be happier, better, more fulfilled. In your sessions, you will be met with curiosity, acceptance, and reflection when you speak of the things weighing on you. Together we foster consciousness around personal patterns, and in so doing we upend maladaptive anxiety and depression.

A warm and trusting relationship gives clients the freedom to explore thoughts, feelings, patterns and relationships while learning healthy ways to manage anxiety, chronic self -doubt and sadness.
I work with people struggling with anxiety, depression, life transitions, and unhealthy relational patterns, helping them to identify and change the obstacles and patterns that are getting in their way. Clients often come in feeling like life is overwhelming and they are not managing work, school, friendships and relationships well, despite their best intentions and efforts. Often these patterns are so ingrained that we are not aware of another way of interacting or seeing our core beliefs. Therapy can increase insight and help to resolve and heal the underlying issues, creating the symptoms of anxiety and depression.

Individuals often seek therapy when they are confronted by problems that seem dark or difficult to overcome such as, depression, anxiety, relationship issues but these problems can call us to higher consciousness and greater psychological and spiritual health.
I believe that therapy is a collaborative endeavor to which we each bring different knowledge and life experiences. You are the expert on your life and have the resources to help you meet your goals. I bring my life experiences, my training and knowledge to assist you in meeting your goals. As a Jungian my knowledge entails understanding the psyche which is another word for soul. As an aide to understanding the soul I published a book entitled, The Journey: An Archetypal Story, available on Amazon.com. It tells, in metaphor and image, the journey of the soul and its goal in fulfilling its life purpose on this journey we call life

I believe the therapy relationship is foundational for growth and change.
I believe everyone has a story with experiences of their past and present that make up who they are, how they relate to others, and to the world. I believe each person has abilities to boldly express themselves in healthy, adaptive, and genuine manners but often need assistance to discover or recover these abilities. If you desire to work towards further understanding yourself, the way you relate to others, and the world around you, I believe I can help! I enjoy working with anxiety, depression, life adjustments, mood disturbances, and relational trauma with adolescents and adults.

I believe in emphasizing the development of a collaborative relationship between therapist and client, while fostering a safe, nonjudgmental environment that gives people the freedom to explore and understand their feelings and thoughts.
My goal is to help those suffering from emotional or relationship problems, self-defeating patterns of behavior, and recurring periods of uncertainty or self-doubt. I also specialize in the treatment of treatment-resistant depression, anxiety-related disorders, personality disorders, and PMDD. My approach to therapy involves understanding how difficult experiences from our past can affect the way we feel and behave in the present. Our past experiences are often the reason we sometimes struggle with the same emotional and relationship problems throughout life. It is only through understanding our past struggles can we expect to achieve a lasting and meaningful change in the present.

The most important aspect of therapy is a trusting relationship in which one feels valued, understood, recognized and seen. I work with people who want to understand the connections between past experiences and patterns in their current lives to have more satisfying relationships. The people I work with want to feel connected to others, repair past relationships, participate in corrective and reparatory experiences, understand their feelings, actions and thoughts, and be at peace with themselves. Many suffer from depression, anxiety, trauma, body image or eating, and find themselves in challenging periods of transitions.

Couples often wait 7 years prior to seeking professional help. It is unsurprising that many couples who seek couples therapy have experienced chronic conflict, resentment, and disconnection, which paralyzes the growth of their relationship. Dr. Holt’s passion involves helping couples caught in a vicious cycle find true healing, safety, and deep connection again. Her approach centers on addressing the unresolved attachment injuries—such as feelings of rejection or inadequacy—that fuels the negative cycle couples experience. When the attachment injuries remain untreated, this hinders the security and connection between partners.

You can transform your life/ relationship into one that is not defined by the past.
You feel lost and broken. Even though you know the trauma happened in the past, it still doesn’t feel over. You try to ignore the pain so you can find peace in life and relationships. Yet vicious memories from the past keep creeping up again & again at unexpected moments. No matter how much you try to ignore them, they continue to haunt your present. The inner turmoil is exhausting- you keep being pulled back to the shadows; your body is overwhelmed by sensations that make no sense. Your heart aches with feelings no one understands. You feel alone and trapped. But it doesn’t have to be this way. Let's help you find freedom in that.

I have considerable experience treating depression, anxiety related disorders, relationship issues, self-esteem, intrusive thoughts, trauma, eating disorders, and mood disorders.
Counseling is supposed to be convenient, effective and helpful. Through evidenced based approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, and DBT, we are able to process trauma, explore and establish coping skills, and slowly but surely, start living again. I've worked in the nonprofit sector helping victims of domestic violence as well as other issues to include addiction, personality disorders, and family conflict. I work with the LGBTQ community and take pride in working with multicultural clients.

A dialogue between two people, building a trusting relationship, establishing a space for healing and growth.
Are you feeling like something is “off”? Is the "committee" in your head so loud it is interfereing? Do you no longer enjoy the things you used to? Are you choosing to “numb out” your thoughts and feelings and engaging in unhealthy habits? Are you able to nurture your relationships, or are you neglecting to “feed” the relationship? These questions require us to take a deep, hard look into “self”, sometimes from a 20,000 feet above perspective. The idea of doing something different can be difficult, but change is necessary to facilitate growth. What is working for you and what can you change? Rearview mirror or forward focused?

I'd be honored to assist by offering a compassionate and non-judgmental space for you or your relationship.
Hey there! I'm glad you're taking the time and effort to pour back into yourself. When life gets overwhelming, we sometimes turn to self neglect instead of self love and empowerment. I'm here to help! My approach as a therapist, stems from strengths-based and family systems models which means I strive to honor a client's full self, identifying strengths and learning new skills during the healing process. I believe that you have the power to make the changes you wish to see in your life. Together we can unpack and explore your full self and discuss strategies for stoking the fire of hope and change.

Working together, we can gain insight, empathy, and create better outcomes. I enjoy building up a sense of empowerment and resilience in my Clients, so that they are better able to identify obstacles, set goals, and create a sense of investment and accomplishment in their lives.

As a psychologist and Lacanian psychoanalyst, I believe that psychotherapy works best when you feel free to express and explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences-including the ones that feel difficult to put into words. Words have the power both to hurt and to heal. I am trained to listen and intervene in a way that can have many benefits, including relief from suffering and substantive, lasting changes such as personal growth, increased relationship satisfaction and life fulfillment, and an improved ability to work and succeed. I provide a comfortable, professional environment in which I aim to help you meet your goals.

Relationship Issues Therapists
While need for human connection appears to be innate, the ability to form healthy, loving relationships is learned. Some evidence suggests that the ability to form a stable relationship starts to form in infancy, in a child's earliest experiences with a caregiver who reliably meets the infant's needs for food, care, warmth, protection, stimulation, and social contact. Such relationships are not destiny, but they are theorized to establish deeply ingrained patterns of relating to others. The end of a relationship, however, is often a source of great psychological anguish.
