I carry this holistic approach into relationship and sex therapy work by layering in communication technique, skill building around connection, safety, security, trust, and vulnerability, exploration of individual and relational wants, needs, limits, and expectations, and a lot of practice!.
Do you have trouble knowing what you want or asking for it? Do your feelings seem overwhelming at times? Do you find yourself giving in to avoid conflict or banging your emotional head against a wall? Do you find that your behavior and values sometimes don't align? Are you frustrated or disappointed by the lack of physical and emotional connection with the people closest to you? Are you and your partner concerned by your differing levels of sexual desire? Do you feel stuck and lethargic or that your thoughts spiral out of your control? Do you want to develop insight and create change in your own life? If so, let's talk!

I believe that people want and need to be understood by themselves and by other people. Without this, life and relationships can feel hollow and lonely. At the most difficult times, problems with others, depression and anxiety, unmet goals, and the critical ways you feel about yourself can be too much to bear and feel too hard to change. But change comes with the development of a therapy relationship fostered by careful listening, trust, curiosity, honesty, and taking chances. I help people who are struggling with depression, anxiety, and self-esteem and relationship issues.

With the support of our therapeutic relationship, we will turn curiosity towards your inner contradictions and nourish your complexities.
When our relationships feel disconnected, our conversations are critical to the way we go on. Each interaction has the possibility to bring us closer together or to push us further apart. As we feel more understood, respected, and capable, we can turn towards one another with more compassion and room for connection. I offer a curious and non-pathologizing approach to creating our conversations. Together, we can put language to your experiences and make new meaning of pain, trauma, and grief. Tangible transformations in our lives and relationships are possible when we feel most connected to ourselves and to others.

At times, life can be painful, heartbreaking, and completely devastating. As we go through life, we are constantly exposed to reality gaps—the gaps between the reality we have and the reality we want. The larger the gap, often, the more unsettling the pain. I meet people where they are and help them work to meet their personal goals and values. I’m skilled at creating an environment in which individuals feel heard, understood, and affirmed, but also challenged. I have worked as a therapist for over a decade with adults & adolescents experiencing chronic depression, anxiety, attachment issues, and interpersonal relationship conflict.

Feeling like you see what the problems are, yet you still feel stuck? Together we can help you transform that awareness into change. Many of my clients are painfully aware of their patterns, but despite their best efforts, they struggle to embody their values. I know firsthand how hard and frustrating therapy can be for just this reason, as well as how life-changing a good therapeutic relationship can be. In my practice, I work with individuals who have experienced trauma, relationship issues, and want to work through life transitions, and boundary setting.

As an attachment and relationship therapist - we will curiously look back and into family, culture, race, religion, sexuality, etc.
I believe that everyone has their potential already within them. Because of this, therapy is a place to discover what is possible and to provide the structure, tools, and outside perspective to more consistently bring your authentic self into your everyday. As we grow, we find that the ways we’ve seen and known ourselves no longer work for us, and the people around us change the dynamics in which we operate. Whether it is big life changes and self image issues to sexuality and relationship challenges, we have to take responsibility for our part and direct our effort to the areas where we have influence and control.

I specialize in mood disorders (such as depression, anxiety and bipolar disorder), relationship and peer issues, grief and loss and stressful life transitions.
Often people find themselves to be stuck or unhappy and they don't know how they got there. Or maybe there is a specific problem you're dealing with and you need an outside perspective and unbiased help working through it and getting back to a more comfortable and productive place. Sometimes it's helpful to just have a safe space to share what's going on inside your head. I consider therapy a natural and helpful extension of your regular daily life. My hope is that sessions with me are conversations and explorations into what you think about and what you want for yourself and your relationships.

I do my best work with folx dealing with anxiety, trauma/grief, identity/ relationship concerns, and mood/behavior dysregulation.
However you show up, my bottom line is to provide a safe, respectful, and validating space where you are listened to without assumptions, judgement, or an agenda. I have diverse practice experiences that taught me to listen beyond words and look beyond appearances. My trainings in art and music allow me to do so with greater agility and accuracy, bringing us closer to your inner voice and shedding light on your inner world. This foundation of human-to-human understanding will help us work together as partners to reach your goals - whether it is healing, growth, self-exploration, or change - with a deep sense of clarity and peace.

Relationship Issues Therapists
While need for human connection appears to be innate, the ability to form healthy, loving relationships is learned. Some evidence suggests that the ability to form a stable relationship starts to form in infancy, in a child's earliest experiences with a caregiver who reliably meets the infant's needs for food, care, warmth, protection, stimulation, and social contact. Such relationships are not destiny, but they are theorized to establish deeply ingrained patterns of relating to others. The end of a relationship, however, is often a source of great psychological anguish.
