Although I work with individuals on a wide range of mental health, lifestyle and relationship issues, I particularly enjoy helping people who struggle with the uncomfortable symptoms of anxiety, such as shyness, fear of public speaking, or panic attacks.
I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist that works with individuals, couples and families by integrating a cognitive-behavioral and family systems approach. I provide a warm, safe, supportive environment, and my therapeutic style is respectful, collaborative and solution-focused.

Using their personal interests, art, games, and play, I quickly develop a working relationship.
As a therapist, I know there are times when we feel lost or lack confidence to navigate through critical and life-changing circumstances. Although we often have many strengths and skills, we have difficulty accessing these during periods of family changes or crises, depression, anxiety, or prolonged grief/loss. In therapy, I will facilitate the process of helping you reconnect with your strengths and discover new skills, strategies, and resources toward a more healthier approach to life challenges.

I specialize in helping to manage and overcome self-defeating behaviors, relationship problems, depression, and anxiety.
Whether life is going well or you are struggling to feel well, therapy could be a helpful and powerful tool in moving forward. Finding the right therapist, however, could be overwhelming. With investments of energy, time, and money, it is important to select a therapist with whom you feel comfortable—someone that "gets" you and in whom you have trust and confidence. I enjoy helping adults understand their barriers and strengths to help them meet their goals in the various aspects of their lives, such as relationships, work, school, and health.

Whether you want to work on a more connected relationship (mono or poly), are a middle aged man who’s always been skeptical of therapy, are a queer emerging adult trying to be yourself in a more conservative family/community, or are the family matriarch looking to redefine yourself & the path you’re on, you deserve a supportive space to sort it all out.
You're human. You have your best self, worst self, & most days are somewhere in between. We’ll look at your patterns & decide which are serving you well & which you want to shift. My goal is to normalize your messiness & then help you untangle it, so you can connect with your underlying needs & feel good about getting them met. I do a lot of work on healing attachment injuries & utilize emotionally focused therapy to help you learn to better trust yourself, simplify your communication, & feel more connected with others.

My focus when working with a couple together we aim to strengthen the relationship, increase communication between partners, overcome blocks to communication, increase emotional understanding, enhance emotional connection, identifying negative relationship patterns while working towards improving those patterns.
When working with clients, I see people as unique individuals who are trying to find their own meaning for their lives and a purpose in life. Through therapy we can learn so much about ourselves and our goals which we might not even be aware of up to this point. Part of my belief in therapy is centered in the idea that each person is capable of reaching their desired self or achieving self actualization. I believe individuals and relationships are trying to find their best possible versions of self. In my practice I emphasize promoting communication and emotional awareness.

My focus is on post graduate supervision, helping women with self-esteem issues, couple relationship issues, couples and families working and living internationally, and adoption related issues.
My passion is to work with couples: pre-marital, couple's with children, empty nesters, and couples entering retirement. We go through so many transitions in our lifetime and each transition brings stresses and issues of it's own. I am a level-3 trained Gottman Therapist and use many modalities as well designed to fit the needs of each couple and individual. I approach my work through a systems perspective. I integrate genograms, Sand Tray therapy, Art therapy, and other interventions to help clients to fine relief from their struggles.

The current isolation has been difficult for many of us. We might feel stress, anxiety, or depressed due to events that are out of our control. Each of us has a unique story. It is easy to get stuck within our story and feel helpless to make a change. We get stuck in communication, thought and relationship patterns. It is possible to become unstuck and break the patterns that have held us captive.

ACCEPTING NEW CLIENTS**Struggling to connect in your relationship? Finding yourself misunderstood and lonely? These are the common situations that couples find themselves in. Imagine feeling understood and having a shared vision for your relationship. You can be on the same page as your partner. You can experience being known and loved... not inspite of your shortcomings but because of them. There are two types of people, those who continue to complain (being a victim to their patterns of dysfunction) and those who decide they are going to be responsible for creating health in the relationship they are in. Which are you going to be?

I specialize working with depression, anxiety, co-dependency, trauma, parent-child conflict, substance abuse recovery, low-self-esteem, grief/loss, relationship problems and food addictions.
Everybody has a story. Often our stories about ourselves and others are formulated when we are very young, trying to make sense of what is going on around us. These stories are often untrue. However, the negative narrative continues into adulthood. I use therapy approaches and techniques that help clients re-author a different story about themselves, others and events that might have occurred. When this healing process occurs, I am inspired as a witness to my clients' transformation as they take steps from struggle to healing. I have been in practice for over 30 years and am a provider on most private insurance plans.

Now accepting new clients and OHP insurance. I focus on helping couples and individuals rebuild trust, connection, safety, and security in the key relationships in their lives. Almost everything we do, every reaction we have, every decision we make, and every relationship we form ultimately results from our inner dynamics, and I help clients identify and work through these dynamics. Therapeutic space allows clients to feel heard, reconnect with themselves, gain greater self-awareness, learn to understand and handle triggers, change unhelpful patterns, and overcome life challenges.

Relationship Issues Therapists
While need for human connection appears to be innate, the ability to form healthy, loving relationships is learned. Some evidence suggests that the ability to form a stable relationship starts to form in infancy, in a child's earliest experiences with a caregiver who reliably meets the infant's needs for food, care, warmth, protection, stimulation, and social contact. Such relationships are not destiny, but they are theorized to establish deeply ingrained patterns of relating to others. The end of a relationship, however, is often a source of great psychological anguish.
