We believe in any therapeutic counseling relationship, to effectively correct thinking patterns that produce life long change, the client must understand how everything starts and ends with the individual.
The mind is where everything is processed which determines how an individual thinks, believes, and reacts to the game of life. Blurred vision does not discriminate. It can allow unwanted thoughts to take over and set the individual on a path that is not demonstrating a "Beautiful Expression of Life". Everything starts and ends in the mind therefore, the life scripts of your mind (way of thinking) needs to be accountable to living life more abundantly and loving yourself. This premise is crucial as one navigates life's relationships of spirituality, family, vocation, and leisure.

With over thirty years of experience, I have worked with a broad range of patients and problems, including depression, anxiety, social phobia, grief, relationship and marital problems.
Psychotherapy can be a life changing process. In order to choose a therapist, you should consider their training and experience, but ultimately your therapist must be someone with whom you feel comfortable, safe and trusting. Psychotherapy is a collaboration, where the two of us are working together toward a full understanding of your problems in living. With that greater understanding, you will have more freedom of choice to be how you want to be, and who you want to be. We will need to understand your personal strengths as well as the difficulties and problems you have encountered.

Working with a therapist that you trust can be a life changing experience. Are you having problems with a relationship or work, financial stress, substance abuse or another addiction? Or are you anxious, sad, or overwhelmed? Things can get better. One of my clients told me that my office was a sacred space. In this environment you may feel free to truly express yourself and face the problems that are bothering you. Some of my work has been with people who were in unhealthy relationships or exposed to trauma in their early years.

My experience, combined with the extensive training I have undergone, has enabled me to help a multitude of couples change the course of their relationship for the better.
I am a Licensed Clinical Psychologist, as well as a Certified Gottman Couples Therapist with a practice operating in Bergen County, New Jersey. The knowledge, behavioral and emotional, gained through working with a Certified Gottman Therapist is invaluable to people in all states of a relationship. I believe that the Gottman Method is advantageous to all couples, pre-marital and marital. While most people enter couple's therapy after many years of distress and frustration, the interventions and skills learned are equally beneficial to couples at the beginning stage of their relationship.

It's difficult to take the first step, but therapy can help you to feel less alone with these feelings and help you to move forward and find long lasting relief and change.

Whether you're struggling with anxiety, depression, relationship issues, or other mental health concerns, I provide a safe, non-judgmental space to explore your thoughts and feelings and learn to cope better.
Does it feel like you've become an expert at reading therapists' profiles by now, but are still having trouble deciding who would be a good fit for you and your situation? You want someone knowledgeable and skilled, who is compassionate, but has a sense of humor. You need to feel comfortable talking about your private life, not to feel like you're in an uncomfortable stare-down. And most importantly, you need someone who will help you feel better, cope better, and understand yourself better.

All relationships rupture...but not all relationships repair. A couple's ability to safely and effectively repair their ruptures, and heal their pain, is an essential ingredient to any healthy long-term connection. In my office, I meet a great variety of people and relationship types; some are merely dating, while others are already engaged, or have begun the marital journey... and yet others are anywhere from 10-50 years into their marriage. What unites them all is the great human need and desire to feel understood, seen, safe, loved, and held.

Relationship Issues Therapists
While need for human connection appears to be innate, the ability to form healthy, loving relationships is learned. Some evidence suggests that the ability to form a stable relationship starts to form in infancy, in a child's earliest experiences with a caregiver who reliably meets the infant's needs for food, care, warmth, protection, stimulation, and social contact. Such relationships are not destiny, but they are theorized to establish deeply ingrained patterns of relating to others. The end of a relationship, however, is often a source of great psychological anguish.
