I believe that people today are looking for meaning in their lives. The issues that many are experiencing such as depression, anxiety, anger, and relationship problems stem from a struggle to find meaning and one's place in the world. A balance must be achieved between the psychological and spiritual dimensions of the client's life. It is my personal therapeutic philosophy that the issues that the client may be facing can be used as a motivating force to help him or her achieve and maintain this psycho-spiritual union.

Whether it's stress, anxiety, depression, ongoing impact of trauma, relationship issues, or life and work functioning, it takes courage and trust to share personal thoughts, feelings, and behaviors with another person, especially a stranger.
Therapy is a collaborative process grounded in a working and trusting relationship where both client and therapist engage towards building understanding and movement. I strive to create a safe and compassionate environment where you can explore your issues and increase your well-being while identifying life context that contribute to the challenges you face. We will work to apply contextual aspects, including identities, culture, and community alignments, to illuminate both challenges and potential aspects of resolution.

I have a passion for working with people who want to live their best lives. Sometimes, taking the step to begin counseling can feel scary, but I truly enjoy coming alongside those who may feel a little apprehensive and helping them feel supported in this journey. Many of the people I have worked with have dealt with things like depression and anxiety, relationship struggles, or trauma.

It is normal for any relationship to have ups and downs, but you do not have to stay stuck in a cycle of negativity. Are you at a crossroads in your marriage or partnership? Are you dealing with past or present unhealthy family dynamics? If so, couples or family counseling can help. Problems in relationships can vary, as can the perspective of those problems. As a licensed counselor, I will assist you in your journey of working through your concerns, learning to communicate effectively, actively listening to your loved one's point of view, and navigating out of your current circumstances toward the life that you desire.

I have worked for several decades with individuals, couple's and families who have struggled with personal, relational, marital and family issues. I guess that qualifies me as a "seasoned" therapist. Among the many issues that clients have brought to their work with me are acute and chronic anxiety, depression, grief and loss, relationship issues and longing for personal growth. I have extensive experience in dealing with marital and couple's problems. As a survivor or child loss, I have particular expertise is working with bereaved parents.

When our relationships shift towards dysfunctional, they can become more stressful than comforting. I work with adults in individual, couple, and family therapy to create more comforting relationships with themselves and others. Together we explore issues related to intergenerational trauma, dysfunctional relationship patterns, family issues, and attachment. This often looks like exploring disconnection, unresolvable issues, work-life balance, and setting boundaries. My clients often identify has Highly Sensitive People (HSP) or as therapists and healers. If this sounds like you, let's chat!

I believe we are all recovering from something. As a clinician, I believe that a healthy nonjudgmental relationship is foundational to each of our healing journeys. Having someone who we can be honest with, who is honest with us, allows us to be honest with ourselves and reach our ultimate potential. While the therapeutic relationship is our foundation, I incorporate elements of motivational interviewing, solution focused, cognitive and dialectical behavioral therapies in order to meet you where you are and help you get to where you want to be.

Whatever you’re hoping to get out of therapy, you’re going to have to work! I’m here to help you figure out what that looks like. If you let me, I’ll guide you through the discomfort of growth.

Relationships are hard and the struggles we experience can be complex. We don’t always understand or have the words to explain what's going on in our lives- but we know we aren't feeling how we want to. The traditional approach to therapy can be intimidating and at times, hard to understand. In my sessions, we will build our relationship with humor and compassion. I believe that everyone's problems are unique. I'm here to help guide you to discover the best ways to heal in your situation. I am passionate in helping couples, families and individuals heal through reframing and normalizing your conflicts while creating new experiences.

We are meant to be whole and well, with the ability to recover and heal. I help women and men with depression, anxiety, and relationship issues. I listen, then share information and tools that will help with their specific needs. My clients suffering with anxiety will be taught skills to become more grounded and self assured. My clients experiencing depression are given hope and tools. Couples in crisis or wanting a better relationship can thrive instead of just survive in the model I use. As a RN, I am specifically trained in how the body responds to stress, trauma, and change.

All relationship challenges improve with effective communication.
You've gotten lost in the daily grind and drifted apart. Work, kids, laundry.. you feel like roommates who split chores. You don't feel heard, seen, admired, desired or understood. It seems like you keep fighting over little things, that quickly turn into arguments about unresolved issues that have stuck around for years. You've tried everything. Ignoring it, conceeding, appeasing, fighting, silence, retreat..

I’m so glad you’re here. Making the decision to reach out for help takes tremendous courage and vulnerability. Great job on taking this first step. Maybe you're here because you're struggling with recurring anxiety, depression, or relationship challenges. Or maybe you've tried therapy before and it helped briefly, but you found yourself repeating the same patterns shortly after. If you're ready to do the deep work to uncover and heal the root cause of your distress so that you see lasting change in your life, I'd be honored to support you on this journey.

Relationship Issues Therapists
While need for human connection appears to be innate, the ability to form healthy, loving relationships is learned. Some evidence suggests that the ability to form a stable relationship starts to form in infancy, in a child's earliest experiences with a caregiver who reliably meets the infant's needs for food, care, warmth, protection, stimulation, and social contact. Such relationships are not destiny, but they are theorized to establish deeply ingrained patterns of relating to others. The end of a relationship, however, is often a source of great psychological anguish.
