Here’s what I’m offering: a relationship that does not require you to be less than what you are, a space that is safe and accepting of every part of you (yes, even that part), time to ask the big questions that will lead you back to yourself, and new strategies that can carry you forward into a more energetic and fulfilling life.
If you feel like something isn’t right and you are considering therapy - welcome! The toughest part is realizing that something really can change, and that you might need a little help to get where you want to be. The truth is, we all need a little help to get where we want to be.

" What a huge decision! Let me help you in your relationship find meaning and learn how to communicate before it's too late.
Am I the problem or is it everyone around me?" “Am I the only one who feels the way I do?” “I can’t seem to get things straight” “I thought my life would have turned out differently.” Is no one listening to you? Are you feeling scattered or that your priorities are out of touch? I want to listen to you and help you reorder your life in a meaningful way – one that you’re pleased with. "Ugh, every time I think about what he did to me, I get an upset stomach and can’t shake this feeling." If your relationship is on the rocks, reach out! Don't wait to reach out and find the happiness that you deserve and need. Call or text today!

I have enjoyed working with a wide variety of clients including individuals who are dealing with lifelong chronic illness, maternal issues; including perinatal mood disorders, trauma or loss, parenting, and adults who are trying to figure out their path in life, coping with anxiety, depression, mood disorders, trauma, and relationship issues.
I strive to provide a warm, respectful, comfortable environment for you to explore your life and areas of discontent. I believe people can benefit from therapy at any stage in life, things come up and often we need a sounding board to gain insight into our future goals or past experiences. When something is off in our lives, it is difficult to figure out how to move forward to achieve balance. My goal is to help you feel supported and empowered to make significant changes in your life and improve overall well being.

I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Solution Focused Therapy all within a Person Centered Approach, working with adults and adolescents struggling with: Anxiety, Depression, ADHD, Personality Disorders, Trauma and Relationship Issues.
Choosing to reach out to a therapist can be scary. Its not easy to talk to someone you don't know, but if you are willing to try, I'll walk through the hard times with you. We can not fix everything overnight, change takes time, but my mission is to help you find a healthy new direction in life. There is strength and potential for growth and change in all of us, but sometimes we just feel stuck and overwhelmed with all life throws at us. You do not have to go it alone, I am here to help.

Therapy is not one-size-fits-all. I collaborate with clients so they can engage in self-exploration and practice skills grounded in their personal values. As a queer nonbinary, fat therapist, I believe in addressing intersecting identities and building a compassionate relationship that centers the client's distinct needs. I specialize in relationship and sex therapy and especially enjoy working with individuals, couples, and polycules navigating changes in identity and sexual health. I have experience working with the impact of medical trauma and chronic illness on sexuality and with exploration of sexual and gender identity.

Lastly, I understand the difficulty to acknowledge when our ability to cope, be in relationship, or simply be happy, has diminished.
Let's face it, life events shape our present, and contribute to a loss of connection to ourselves, family, others, and the world. A recovered sense-of-self is essential for empowerment to face these issues. And, because this disconnect initially occurs in earliest childhood, traditional "talk" therapy alone is an insufficient approach. I am a therapist shaped by a myriad of life roles and events. I intentionally sought a PhD in clinical psychology with a specialization in "somatic psychology" to underscore my own therapeutic experience. Somatic psychology studies how the "body" informs and provides clues to our emotional responses linked to childhood.

Deciding to get counseling is a brave step. It takes courage to risk being vulnerable with a stranger, but seeking an ally to help when you feel stuck or overwhelmed is a sign of mental health. As a counselor, I seek to form a partnership of equals with clients. I have been on both sides of the counseling relationship, and I know how powerful it can be to connect in a validating and supportive environment. I love counseling in part because I often learn as much from my clients as I have from being a client myself.

This can take many forms, including working with an individual to examine your own interactions with your family, working with a couple to strengthen their relationship, or working with the whole family to change pattens of interaction in the home.
As necessary as change often is, it can also be one of the hardest things to do. It seems safe to stay with what we know even if it's not what's for our best. The good news is is that change is indeed possible! Having an outside perspective to process your story and to begin to interpret and understand things differently can be a vital as you pursue growth and change. The lens of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) considers your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors and how these interact as well as how they influence our interactions with others; it acknowledge the past while focusing primarily on growth in the present and future.

Change is an inevitable part of life, it is also something we often fear and resist. As your therapist I assist you in activating your motivation and developing skills to guide you through the process. Whether your motivation is coming from a personal or relationship crisis, a long term difficulty, or simply the desire to create a better, happier future - I use therapy as a guided exploration toward solutions and the development of skills necessary for creating change. Learning WHAT, and HOW to change is at the core of my training, experience and my approach to therapy with clients.

Relationship Issues Therapists
While need for human connection appears to be innate, the ability to form healthy, loving relationships is learned. Some evidence suggests that the ability to form a stable relationship starts to form in infancy, in a child's earliest experiences with a caregiver who reliably meets the infant's needs for food, care, warmth, protection, stimulation, and social contact. Such relationships are not destiny, but they are theorized to establish deeply ingrained patterns of relating to others. The end of a relationship, however, is often a source of great psychological anguish.
