I work with a wide range of clients, but have a particular focus on working with neurodiversity and/or trauma. I believe in being an active listener, and engaging clients about their own goals. In my counseling practice I work to build a helping relationship with clients and help clients reach their goals through personal insight, examination of experiences and practice of new coping skills. As a behavior analyst, I work with clients to determine goals and skills that will help clients build relationships, enhance safety and learn. ABA is primarily provided to children who have been diagnosed with autism and includes parent training
I approach counseling from a behavioral perspective, believing that through changes in behavior we experience new thoughts and feelings. I view counseling as a journey that requires trust and rapport, meaning that I focus on building that human relationship first. I also believe in examining how the environment effects our thoughts and behaviors.
My clients often experience an intersection of identities, and I hope to provide support to those who are navigating those experiences. I believe that trauma and adversity effects people from many different identities, and should not disempower the choices of each individual. I want to support my clients through making choices for themselves.
