I help clients who struggle with low self esteem, identity issues, substance use disorders, depression, anxiety, compulsions, destructive or disturbing thoughts and actions. My ideal client is one who has the capacity to critically examine their own thoughts, beliefs and behavior patterns in order to identify common threads and blind spots. This helps empower them to make the changes in their life that lead to improved wellness outcomes.
My trauma informed approach helps clients feel comfortable which enables them to open up. My preferred modalities are CBT, SFT and EFT sprinkled with the DBT for clients who need help developing coping skills. While emotional validation is a major part of my approach, I will also challenge clients when it is appropriate and necessary.
