My ideal client population are adolescents and young adults who are doing the difficult work of establishing who they are as an individual within and outside of their family of origin. I love working with younger clients who are learning how to become their truest selves while simultaneously working through past traumas, self-esteem troubles, difficult peer relationships, family dynamics, anxiety, depression, etc.
I strongly emphasize a client-centered strengths based approach and place the therapeutic alliance / relationship first and then tailor my theoretical offerings to each individual clients needs / tendencies. I rely on tools from Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.
We are always evolving and changing, and taking the time to reflect on who we are and who we want to become can be a difficult thing to do when life is busy or when past traumas, anxiety, or depression inhibit us from effectively doing so.
