Hello, my name is Rebecca Anderson and I have worked in the mental health field for almost 23 years and have been licensed as a Marriage and Family Therapist in California for over 13 years. I practice direct, open, and honest communication, and encourage that in others, focusing on self-empowerment, self-care, and healthy boundaries. My approach is reflective and insight-oriented and fosters self-knowledge and self-acceptance.
I work with multiple types of clients and conditions across the spectrum of severity and acuity. However, because my approach is insight oriented, I tend to work best with individuals who can engage in a self-reflective process and see the value in digging deeper into psychological/emotional experiences to find one's own meanings and truths.
While I would describe my overall approach as eclectic, I am primarily interested in an existential/humanistic approach but also bring in aspects of psychodynamic/psychoanalytic, person-centered, cognitive behavioral, as well as reflective practice approaches, among others.
