Hi, I am Ray and so nice to meet you. I am a licensed professional counselor (LPC) and have practiced since 2005 after having come from a educational career of 28 years. I am licensed in Alaska, Missouri and Maine. I work with a wide variety of clients ranging in ages from teens to older adults. I also work with military, veterans, and first responders. Although I am not a licensed MFT, I have had a lot of couples therapy exposure over the years. I take each client one at a time, and make sure the client is satisfied before we begin.
My approach to Therapy is team focused. I see my role as a therapist to be a partner, to help the client help themselves by focusing on the "team" approach and not necessarily the instructor role, but always be available for feedback and support.
My communication style is simple, in the fact that it is open and honest. I believe that counseling is just an extension of who I am and communication is the key. I believe in cooperative communication based on respect and trust.
