I appreciate and am profoundly moved by the courage people bring to the work of therapy. I strive to honor your commitment by creating a safe and supportive environment that will allow you to experience therapy as alleviating symptoms and moving towards your goals. I see people with a variety of concerns: such as chronic sadness, anxiety, conflict in relationships, loss, life transitions, or a vague sense of being disconnected from one's true self or purpose in life. Therapy can expand your sense of yourself, deepen relationships, ease life transitions, and enrich your life in unforeseen yet exciting ways.
I see adults in individual, couples and group therapy and offer clinical supervision to other therapists. My practice is grounded in contemporary psychodynamic theory and liberation psychology. I use a blend of techniques that build on the interconnectedness between mind and body according to your needs.
I came to psychotherapy via a PhD in linguistics, helping people make sense of their thoughts, feelings, bodily sensations, and experiences. I've served on the Boards of local psychotherapy organizations and am active in my community and in my own training around ending social oppressions. Please visit my website: www.willermangroup.com.
