Sometimes, we feel overwhelmed, discouraged, angry or confused. Managing these feelings can be isolating and lonely. Through Narrative Therapy, I invite my clients to engage in an active, collaborative process. Together, we seek to author life stories of hope and resilience. I believe that each of us possesses inner strengths, and that a therapeutic partnership can help tap into those resources. My goal is to nurture a relationship in which clients feel respected and supported. I work with adults 20+ in individual, couple, and family sessions. Narrative therapy explores stories: the stories we tell about ourselves, as well as those told to us over time by our families and broader communities. Problematic stories can marginalize our identities. I am passionate about helping clients re-author preferred life stories that allow for change, empowerment and self-agency.
I bring to this practice twelve years of psychotherapy work, 20+years in the field of education, a strong music and theatre background, and my life experience as a parent and grandparent. Negotiating my own transitions has offered me a special bond with other adults adjusting to life changes.
