Accepting new clients. When starting therapy, you may wonder what to expect. Each client brings their own unique experiences, values, and strengths to therapy. My approach tends to center on building a trusting therapeutic relationship between us that emphasizes the client as the expert of their lives. P.S. I’m a big fan of comfort items (yes, even for adults). In my office you may find grounding tools such as weighted blankets, coloring books, and fidget toys. Feel free to flip through books on my bookshelf or ask about sensory accommodations (noise cancelling headphones, dim lighting, etc.). If that’s not your thing- that’s fine too.
