My name is Rachel Eriguel. I am a Clinical Psychologist (Psy.D) who is passionate about helping individuals overcome personal challenges through ways such as insight development, teaching skills, and cognitive change, in order to foster growth and improve quality of life. I typically work with clients who have situational distress, or mood disorders, accompanied by behavioral concerns that stem from trauma, lack of insight, and distorted mindsets.
During therapy, I use an approach that is warm, amiable, empathic, patient, caring, and non-judgmental, even when emphasizing information that may be difficult to receive by the client, but necessary for insight and growth; It is important to me that clients feel safe, comfortable, understood and want to be forthcoming.
Therapy will feel stress-free, where the client is not the subordinate of the therapist, but two individuals collaborating towards a meaningful goal. The client will be supported and treated respectfully. Humor is okay! I perceive myself as down-to-earth and genuine, which appears to have made my therapy sessions feel like a positive experience.
