Happiness can be difficult to achieve. Many times, we are in situations in which we need to make changes in our lives to promote mental wellness. Making changes in our lives can feel difficult and complicated. We can feel stuck at certain times of our lives, realizing we've been avoiding chronic problems, or needing to make changes in relationships. If we don't use these opportunities for self reflection and change, we can find ourselves with increased depression and anxiety. I really like to work with clients that are working through their stuck points and help them make changes to improve their quality of life.
I have been working as a clinical social worker for the Federal VA System for the last 14 years. I have been trained in various therapies including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Behavior Activation, and Mindfulness.
