Walking alongside you as you seek therapy is my passion. Helping those who are experiencing anxiety, depression, grief, caregiver burn out, health care complexities or a life limiting illness that may be impacting your quality of life, is the focus of my practice. Please anticipate some homework as you work with me. My practice focuses on individual counseling but at times, when we agree it will be helpful, integrates other family members.
Practice style is comfortable, kind, honest and focused on client-directed goals. Each and every person is treated with genuine respect and dignity with a focus on the client’s goals for therapy. In practice, I rely on systems theory with a focus on strength-based perspectives. Model focuses are narrative, cognitive behavioral and problem solving.
In addition to my practice, I enjoy working on a hospital-based inpatient palliative care team. We support patients who are experiencing a life limiting illness as they navigate working in the hospital with doctors and specialists. In this work, our team helps patients/families determine their quality of life and lines in the sand regarding treatment.
