Greetings! Let me introduce myself. My name is Dr. Patrick Andretta. Most refer to me as Dr. "A". I am an easygoing and friendly Licensed Clinical Psychologist with 20+ years experience treating those with anxiety, depression, PTSD and adjustment issues. My patients benefit from learning productive ways of thinking that help them deal more effectively with their stressors and other life changes. I also work with the elderly and their siblings to enhance interpersonal communication for a more positive home environment, facilitating acceptance of health issues and other challenges associated with advanced age. I perform testing to assess IQ, address cognitive deficits and memory issues.
My specialty is providing supportive therapy to the geriatric population. This interest was initiated by my intensive research when working on a doctoral thesis "The Short-term Effects of Snoezelen treatment on Patients with Dementia" leading to much acclaim and eventual publication. The fact is, we all cannot avoid aging.
One day we celebrate retirement. Health issues become more prominent. Depression and anxiety may occur as we question our own mortality and usefulness in society. What can we do? My extensive experience working with the elderly in hospitals, nursing homes and assisted living facilities has honed my clinical skills to effectively help those in need.
