My primary clients are individuals between 2 - 21 years (Adults on a case-by-case basis). I work with children and their families to provide more information about current presenting social, emotional, and/or behavioral concerns through a thorough assessment (i.e., 5+ hours of direct assessment) and/or through counseling. In counseling, I alone cannot change the person once per week or every other week; parents are key to successful treatment by implementing appropriate strategies, support, and structure needed for improvement (i.e., there is work for the adults too!). I can also help with navigating the school system. So, "How can I help?"
I specalize in assessment/diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder (including the use of ADOS-2), Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder, Mood Disorders (e.g., anxiety, depression), Behavioral Disorders (e.g., anger, noncompliance), Developmental Delays, Other Social-Emotional Concerns, and Patient Advocacy. My counseling style is primarily cognitive-behavioral or behavioral in nature, including parent-child therapy.
As a Nationally Certified School Psychologist, I am knowledgable of the laws that governor Special Education (i.e., IEPs) and what schools can and cannot do when trying to help students with concerns. Therefore, I am able to help parents advocate for their children within the school system effectively.
