As someone who comes from a Hispanic family (with LOTS of nieces and nephews), I know firsthand the importance of open communication and trust building as you seek assistance for them. No matter what the concern is, my primary (and ongoing) goal is to gain your family's trust. I value creating a comfortable environment for families to express their needs through any stage of the counseling process. My specialties include working with children and teens diagnosed
with autism and adhd. I have over six years of experience working on goals specific to communication, social, or behavioral concerns. I implement play or talk therapy in session, depending on the developmental stage of the child. These therapies are implemented with a person-centered approach, meaning your child will
progress through counseling at a pace they are comfortable with. Through trust, skill building, and just the right amount of "push", your child will gain a sense of freedom for growth! AutPlay is a neurodiverse affirming approach to working with children! We meet the child where they're at in their mental health journey, providing play therapy interventions suitable for their abilities. We also use a strengths-based approach, meaning your child will be encouraged to highlight their strengths &play preferences as they learn social skills along the way. This fall, we will use Robert Jason Grant's 10session approach to practicing social navigation! My hope is to offer a safe &affirming space so that in small group settings, members will feel confident enough to play, approach, and interact with others!
