Hello! I'm Phyllis and I'm a Licensed Clinical Marriage and Family Therapist. I provide therapy for couples and individual adults. I help clients improve communication, trust, and security in their relationships. I work collaboratively with my clients and believe they are the expert on their lives. I focus on their strengths and help build upon them to overcome difficulties. I help clients identify what is already working well and we build skills that they can implement and use in their everyday lives. Overall, I offer clients a safe environment where they can be open, vulnerable, and challenged as they work to achieve their goals.
I specialize in couples therapy and work with clients on communication, conflict management, infidelity, premarital counseling, discernment counseling, divorce counseling, sex and intimacy issues and more. I often use Gottman Couples Therapy to provide tools to improve communication and increase intimacy, respect, and affection in the relationship.
I also work with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, attachment concerns, low self-esteem, grief, life transitions and more. I often use Solution Focused Therapy and Narrative Therapy to help clients identify their strengths. These strengths are used to rewrite the client's life story to reflect a more accurate view of themselves.
